Meter reading
- Utilinova meter readers need access to electricity and water meters during office hours. Important: Consumers will be notified in advance about when their meters will be read.
- Meters will be read monthly, but it’s important to note that Utilinova cannot assure a specific date for reading the meters of a particular building/complex each month. The dates may differ by up to five days from one month to the next.
- The meter readings are recorded monthly through our cloud based tag ID system, and these documents are archived for the minimum period of 3 years.
- Utilinova cannot regulate the electricity consumption beyond the electricity meter. We rely on the meter reading to generate your bill.
IMPORTANT
Premises without a written agreement with Utilinova for electricity supply may face discontinuation without prior notice.
To help consumers pinpoint reasons for unusual fluctuations in their electricity bills, we provide the following measures and options for their benefit:
- Consumers are recommended to minimize the usage of underfloor heating and oil heaters during the winter months since they consume significant amounts of electricity.
- Malfunctioning geyser thermostats can lead to sudden increases in electricity usage. An indicator of this issue is unusually hot water flowing from the hot-water taps.
- Keep in mind that electricity usage tends to increase during the winter due to earlier darkness, increased geyser activity, additional cooking of hot meals, higher hot water usage for bathing/showering, and the use of various electric heating appliances.
- In case electricity meters develop faults, they usually register less electricity consumption than actually used. Consumers interested in verifying the accuracy of their electricity meters can reach out to us for this service, to which a service fee applies. If the meter is found to be faulty, we’ll replace it at no cost, and your account will be adjusted accordingly. However, if the meter is accurate, the testing fee will be added to your account.
- While it rarely occurs, there may be instances where our meter readers/processors make errors in meter readings. In such cases, any over/under-read will be corrected automatically in the next month’s reading.
